I have to agree that times are tough for radio, and the lack of local programming is frustrating.  These changes have left us all with a series of bland options, which leave little to be desired and ultimately have many of us tuning out.  

I think the silver lining has been that there are more options on-line.  Recently, I wrote about my thoughts on radio&#039;s downward spiral on The MediaBackpage - http://www.citycastmedia.com/mediabackpage/2009/02/radio-isnt-dead-but-its-close/

Hopefully, in the next few years in the face of declining ratings, we&#039;ll see the reversal of the pendulum from the late &#039;90s conglomeration.  Just maybe at that point, outlets will return to offering diverse programming that serves their local communities and drives ratings.
