As part of our communications strategy, Identity secured dozens of media interviews prior to the announcement and developed a 450-mile, multi-stop campaign road trip that crisscrossed the state. Identity also played an active role in developing Congressman Hoekstra’s social media strategy. By incorporating communities such as Flickr, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and niche social networks into the announcement strategy, multimedia-rich, shareable content was quickly available to media, bloggers and Hoekstra supporters. By the end of the week, Identity garnered coverage in virtually every major Michigan news and broadcast outlet, and several national media publications, including USA Today and CNN, and a number of active blogs.
