Southfield lawyer gets UN post

President George W. Bush has appointed Identity Marketing & Public Relations client Rodger D. Young as one of five United States Delegates to the United Nations General Assembly. He announcement was featured in the Detroit Free Press on September 13 (see pdf).

Rodger has joined United States Congressman William Delahunt (R-MA), United States Congressman Ted Poe of (D-TX), former New York Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) and Kentucky business and civic leader Kelly G. Knight as a Delegate for the 2007 term that runs from September through December 2007. The General Assembly convenes at the UN Headquarters in New York.

"I am extremely honored to be chosen by the President to represent our country's interests in this particularly important forum," said Young. "I look forward to presenting the views of the United States to the international community in a meaningful and effective way that forwards the interests of our great country." As required by law, Young has resigned from his law firm, Southfield-based Young & Susser, P.C., for the balance of the year. He will return as managing partner and lead litigator in early 2008.
